THE MONTEVIDEO PLAYERS SOCIETY

About the play
We’re thrilled to announce our final Montevideo Players production of 2025… D.O.A. (Dead on Arrival)!
This sharp, witty who-done-it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last moment. With a run time of just over an hour, expect deliberate over-acting, a heightened sense of reality, and plenty of sardonic wit, all delivered with irresistible charm. You’ll be hooked from start to finish.
Here’s the twist: during intermission, one of the characters breaks the fourth wall. Dare to help the detective hunt down the culprit, or simply sit back and enjoy the suspense.

The play takes place at our home, the Neil Fairless Centre. Here, if you so wish, you can live the experience of speaking English all the way as if you were attending theatre and a pub in London. Also, if you indicate so in the booking form, you can meet at least part of the cast & crew after the performance (subject to cast availability).
At the pub you can order Davok craft beer, Guinness beer, wine, spirits or soft drinks, and have pasties and pizza.

The pub opens 30 minutes before the performance starts, during the intermission and after the show.

Winter Quiz
What a night!
Our Winter Quiz on July 25th was a blast, full of laughs, friendly competition, and brain-teasing questions that kept everyone on their toes! Even the trickiest categories couldn’t stop our amazing teams from having a great time and showing off their knowledge.
Special thanks to the organising team Turncoats, (Juan Zumarán, Maru Sus, Román Varela, Virginia Issaris, Marcelo Garmendia, and Carla Orós), for crafting such witty and thought-provoking questions!
A huge congrats to our two winning teams:
🏆 Tata’s Lions: Bernardo Borkenztain, Bernardo Galperin, Eleonora Scoseria, Carolina Mendoza, Fran Galperin
🏆 Amaliens: Julián Silvera, Fernando Silvera, Diego Aguiar, Serrana Sánchez & Amalia Abdo
You smashed it!
The winners will be back next year… but this time, as the organisers of the 2026 Winter Quiz!
We also shared a delicious charcuterie board, which disappeared far too quickly to get a photo! And as always, the friendly atmosphere, shared laughs, and sense of community made it a night to remember.
Stay tuned for more events and shows coming soon!
